Larvicidal Effects of Citrus Peels Extracts against Culex Pipiens Mosquitoes

Background: Mosquitoes transmit severe diseases such as malaria, lymphatic filariasis, dengue fever, and yellow fever. These result in significant morbidity mortality humans around the world. This study aimed to provide information on larvicidal potential of different Citrus species peels against Culex mosquito larvae.Methods: Ethanol extracts four species, sinensis (sweet orange), reticulata (tangerine), latifolia (lime), paradisi (grape) fruits were tested for properties pipiens at concentration (3 mg, 5 7 mg 8 100 mL) 25 larva per concentration. Percentage was recorded each concentrations used. Results: Only induced death all larvae (100%) mg/mL extract, meanwhile resulted lowest rate (80%). However, a hundred percent larvae, observed types evaluated.Conclusion: The indicates that these especially latifolia, hold control larvae.
